Abril Amparo
Abril Amparo (she/her) was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and shortly migrated to New York City where she was raised by her mother. During college, she was introduced to dance via the social latin dance scene and has explored dance/movement since.
While in college she performed in repertory work by Marjani Forté-Saunders and danced in work by Jamie Chandler. She has trained and performed under the instruction of salsera, Delia Madera, performed in visuals by musical Lion Babe and singer Jessie Woo, choreographed by Guerdley Cajus. This is her third time participating in theater work by Janice Tomlinson.
Abril Amparo earned an AAS from the Fashion Institute of Technology and a BA in Studio Art from Hunter College. She is a Bronx resident.
